After your adventure with Shark Bay Coastal Tours, keep the magic going with a few of my personal favourites. These are the places I truly love – where I eat, unwind, and send our guests who ask, “What next?” Each one supports our local community, champions sustainability, and helps protect what makes Shark Bay so special. When you visit these spots, you’re not just exploring – you’re making a positive impact.

Let me show you what makes this place so special – beyond the tracks.

Shark Bay Bakery

The legends behind your tour lunch packs – and trust us, they know their stuff. Shark Bay Bakery serves up seriously good coffee and some of the best pies on the WA coast. Whether you’re grabbing a flaky steak and pepper pie for the road or starting your morning with a fresh muffin and flat white, this place delivers every time. It’s a local favourite for a reason- friendly faces, generous servings, and old-school bakery charm that hits the spot.

Shark Bay Discovery Centre

More than just a visitor centre – this is your launchpad to everything Shark Bay has to offer. Packed with interactive exhibits, rich cultural stories, and jaw-dropping displays (hello, 180-million-year-old fossils!), the Discovery Centre is your one-stop shop for travel advice, maps, and hidden gems only the locals know. Whether you’re chasing info on the best lookouts or want to understand the ancient wonders beneath your feet, this place has you covered. Smart travellers stop here first – and leave with a better plan and way more appreciation for the bay.

The Old Pearler Restaurant

This one’s my go-to – hands down, my favourite dinner spot in town. Built from coral limestone and dripping with rustic charm, The Old Pearler is as much an experience as it is a meal. It’s intimate, relaxed, and BYO (a massive win), making it the perfect place to wind down after a big day exploring. Their signature seafood dishes are absolute showstoppers – think tender scallops, local fish done right, and flavours that celebrate the ocean on your plate. If you’re only dining out once in Denham, make it here.

Shark Bay News & Gifts

The official home of our Get Thorny merch – and so much more. This locally loved hub is your one-stop shop for gifts, souvenirs, newspapers, postal services, and even banking. Whether you’re picking up a postcard, grabbing a locally made keepsake, or snagging one of our thorny devil tees, Shark Bay News & Gifts has you covered. Friendly service, packed shelves, and real small-town charm – it’s got everything you didn’t realise you needed.

Shark Bay Speedway Club

A night out like no other – loud, dusty, and an absolute blast. The Shark Bay Speedway is where the community comes alive, with roaring engines, family-friendly fun, and that classic country race-night buzz. Kids love it, adults get hooked, and everyone leaves with a grin (and probably a bit of red dirt on them). It runs seasonally, so check local listings – but if it’s on while you’re in town, don’t miss it.

Eagle Bluff Lookout

This one’s my personal pick for epic views – and it never disappoints. Perched high above the turquoise shallows, Eagle Bluff is the perfect spot to take in the raw beauty of Shark Bay. The boardwalk is an easy stroll for all fitness levels, and if you look closely, you’ll often spot sharks, rays, and even dugongs gliding through the water below. It’s peaceful, photogenic, and an unforgettable way to connect with the coastline.
