At Shark Bay Coastal Tours, we believe that immersive nature experiences should be available to as many people as possible – delivered in a way that’s both respectful to our guests and the environment. While our 4WD adventures are not wheelchair accessible, we actively support guests with a range of mobility levels, and our commitment to sustainability ensures every tour leaves a positive impact on this special place we call home.

What We Offer

  • Small-group tours (max 6 guests per vehicle) designed for flexibility, comfort, and personal connection

  • Step assistance using a sturdy fold-out stool, plus adjustable suspension in our LandCruisers to help with easier boarding and exiting

  • Tours paced with plenty of time for breaks, photo stops, and wildlife viewing — ideal for  travellers or those who prefer a relaxed personal experience

  • Direct, friendly communication before booking to discuss any specific access or comfort needs

  • Referrals to trusted local businesses that also value accessibility and sustainability

Responsible Tourism Is Core to What We Do

We don’t just explore Shark Bay – we protect it.

  • Our tours reduce environmental impact through shared 4WD transport, lowering carbon emissions per guest

  • We actively discourage single-use plastics and provide guests the option to purchase our branded stainless steel reusable water bottles

  • Guests are educated on how to travel respectfully in fragile ecosystems, including wildlife etiquette and leave-no-trace principles

  • We work closely with local cafés, artisans, and community events to ensure that tourism benefits the local economy and fosters genuine connection

Our tours aren’t about ticking off the sights — they’re about slowing down, treading lightly, and helping guests experience the land in a meaningful and respectful way.

Important Accessibility Information

Due to the remote terrain of Francois Peron National Park and the nature of our 4WD tours, there are some physical requirements. Please note:

  • Vehicles require guests to step up to enter (step stool and vehicle lowering available)

  • Tours include walking on sand, gravel, or uneven natural ground

  • Our vehicles are not fitted with ramps or wheelchair restraints

  • The tours are not suitable for mobility scooters or guests requiring full mobility support

If you’re unsure whether our tours will suit you, we encourage you to reach out. We’re happy to talk through your needs.

A Warm Welcome to All

We proudly welcome:

  • Solo travellers, couples, and mature adventurers

  • Guests with mild mobility concerns who can navigate natural terrain with some support

  • LGBTQIA+ travellers and anyone who’s felt overlooked by commercial tours

  • Visitors with sensory preferences or hidden disabilities seeking peaceful, small-group experiences

We don’t do big buses, rushed schedules, or cookie-cutter tourism. Instead, we offer thoughtful, inclusive adventures where you’re seen, heard, and valued — and where the land is treated with the same respect.
